Job Title: Ice Technician/Maintenance Lead

Overview:
The Ice Technician/Maintenance Lead plays a vital role in maintaining the Zotec Partners Carmel Ice Skadium and affiliated facilities. This position combines technical expertise in ice maintenance with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality ice, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety protocols. The role includes managing ice resurfacing equipment, overseeing general maintenance, and providing exceptional customer service.

Essential Contributions:

• Customer Service: Deliver a safe, clean, and efficient facility to ensure an excellent guest experience.
• Ice Maintenance: Resurface ice using a Zamboni, perform surface repairs, build ice depths, and clean glass, benches, penalty boxes, and decals.
• Equipment Maintenance: Safely operate and maintain ice resurfacing equipment. Inspect, repair, and maintain hockey goals, nets, and other on-ice equipment. Address issues with ice resurfacing machines as needed.
• General Maintenance: Conduct repairs to the board system, locker rooms, and other facility areas. Maintain and document all facility systems.
• Staff Leadership: Manage and train ice personnel. Evaluate staff performance, address deficiencies, and ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, adhere to OSHA standards, and monitor air quality to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
• Facility Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of rink systems to confirm all components meet safety standards. Supervise employees during ice maintenance and repairs.
• Special Assignments: Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• A team-oriented mindset and desire to contribute.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and availability for emergency on-call duties.
• High School Diploma or GED; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Experience operating ice resurfacing equipment, floor scrubbers, and scissor lifts is preferred.
• CIT (Certified Ice Technician) certification is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and experience working with the public.
• Familiarity with ice sports and affiliated associations is a plus.
• General maintenance and housekeeping experience.
• Strong mechanical and organizational skills.
• Commitment to prioritizing safety and following local and state regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Problem-solving skills and a hands-on management approach.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
• Knowledge of ice installation, preparation, and maintenance is preferred.
• Supervisory skills are an advantage.

Job Title: Associate Staff Member - Zotec Partners Carmel Ice Skadium & Arctic Zone Iceplex

Job Summary:

This role plays an important part in ensuring the day-to-day operation of the facility. Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:
   • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
   • Provide accurate information about skating programs, rentals, and facility policies.

2. Skate Rental Management:
   • Assist customers with fitting and renting ice skates.
   • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of rental skates.
   • Report any damaged or unsafe equipment for prompt repair or replacement.
3. Facility Maintenance:
   • Help keep the facility clean and well-maintained, including the skating area, restrooms, and common areas.
4. Safety and Compliance:
   • Adhere to safety protocols and emergency procedures.
   • Promote a safe environment by monitoring and reporting any safety hazards or concerns.
5. Cash Handling and Sales:
   • Process customer payments accurately and efficiently.
   • Sell admission tickets, skate rentals, and concession items as necessary.
6. Event Support:
   • Assist in setting up and organizing special events, parties, and tournaments.
   • Provide support during events by assisting guests, monitoring activities, and ensuring a smooth flow of operations.

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

• Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions.

The Zotec Partners Carmel Ice Skadium is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Supervisor. Supervisors are responsible for overseeing the operation of the facility, exhibiting excellent customer service, and assisting in managing a team of ice rink staff. This position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to providing an outstanding experience for our patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supervision and Leadership:
   • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the ice skating facility.
   • Provide leadership and guidance to rink staff, including associate staff members and maintenance personnel.
   • Ensure that staff adheres to policies and procedures, providing training and support as needed.
2. Customer Service:
   • Interact with customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
   • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
3. Safety and Maintenance:
   • Enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure environment for all guests and staff.
   • Coordinate with associate and maintenance staff to ensure the facility is clean, well-maintained, and equipment is in good working order.
   • Follow correct procedures with regard to operating the Zamboni ice resurfacer.
4. Event Support:
   • Provide supervision regarding the execution of special events, parties, and tournaments hosted at the ice rink.
   • Coordinate with event organizers and staff to ensure events run smoothly.

Qualifications:

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience, preferably in a recreational or customer service setting.
• Previous ice rink experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to learn to drive the Zamboni ice resurfacer.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of ice skating, figure skating, hockey, or related activities is a plus.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
